About

Studio ADZ is the New York based studio space of award winning artist and filmmaker Andrew D. Zimbelman. Originally trained as a fine artist in drawing and painting, he developed a love for film and animation throughout his undergrad and graduate educations. Since receiving his MFA from CalArts in Experimental Animation, Andrew has worked as a director, animator and illustrator for a wide range of clients such as HBO, NBC, Adult Swim, The United Nations, AdoptUSKids, TED Ed, and Google, to name a few.

His work has been nominated for an Emmy and been featured in Fast Company, Animation Magazine, NBC News Digital, Creative Boom, and Motionographer.

Andrew has a passion for design, story and motion, which inform every stage of his creative process. Whether he’s working with a large established brand, or a small organization championing a social cause, he brings all these elements together to visually tell his client’s story in the most effective and compelling way possible. With the help of his producers Andrew builds custom size teams to meet the needs of each project that comes through his studio.

When he’s not leading those teams or collaborating with other studios, Andrew is making his own independent art which has won awards and been shown in film festivals and exhibitions around the world.
